The war. The environment. Middle class families.
Joe Knollenberg has held the GOP line, voting with his party and not our district on all these issues.
Is it any surprise he would vote against expanding health care coverage for children?
A Swing State Project post shows that Knollenberg is the 2nd most vulnerable Republican to vote against S-CHIP, based on PVI. MI-09 has a PVI (Partisan Voter Index) of R+0.1.
Enough is enough. It's time to get to work to beat Joe Knollenberg.
I'm glad that ultimately the bill passed. However this vote shows a clear disconnect between Joe Knollenberg and his constituents.
The people overwhelmingly favor this legislation. Polling in Republican held districts show that 55% favor the expansion.
Joe Knollenberg has already voted against life saving stem cell research and improving water quality, both measures favored by 9th district voters, and crucial to protecting future generations.
9th District voters have a clear choice. Re-elect a Congressman who votes against their interests, or send Gary Peters to Washington to work FOR us.
I went to Yearly Kos with Gary and he made sure we went to the "Your Money or Your Life" session on Healthcare. The gut-wrenching stories about hard working Americans crippled because of lack of health care coverage is sickening. Gary's called the problem unconscionable. He took pages of notes during the presentation. I've never been more honored or excited to work for a candidate as I was walking out of that session and discussing the problem with Gary. He deeply cares about these issues, and has the legislative experience to make an impact.
Gary Peters is ready to go to Washington and get to work.
4 Days left to send a message that healthcare should be available and affordable, especially for our nation's children.
Please contribute to Peters for Congress at ActBlue before the September 30th FEC deadline!
